Position Summary
This position provides assistance to the production planning, scheduling department, manufacturing and finance. The Planning Assistant is responsible for insuring that inventory control processes are followed, investigated and resolved. Supports all aspects of the cycle count program.
Essential Functions
- Support the Destruction Authorization (DA) process.
- Processes DA request
- Monitor for timeliness and completion
- Verifies DA floor process
- Manages inventory cycle count process at the plant and off site facility
- Prepare inventory adjustments.
- Assist in cycle count compliance
- Investigates and resolves floor count discrepancies
- Monitors, investigates and provides resolution.
- Supports Finance
- Month end close activity
- Assist in manufacturing variance investigation
- Supports manufacturing production order process
- Insures components are charged correctly through SAP
- Orders are closed in a timely manner.
- Insures scrap/waste/inventory is accurately accounted for.
- Manages Chemical re-control process
- Monitors inventory control processes
- Reports and investigates potential inventory errors
- Regularly investigates and corrects inventory variance accounts/areas
- Prepares periodic inventory reports for review and processing
- Provide backup support for planning functions
Required Skills and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- A minimum of 2 years of previous experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment.
- Experience with SAP or other comparable ERP system.
Preferred Skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills essential.
- SAP and solid system’s experience.
- Working knowledge of MS Office, e-mail, and internet applications.
- Ability to function in a fast paced environment with complex demands, changes, timelines, and constraints.
- Must be able to multi-task and set priorities to meet deadlines.
- Ability to interface with all colleagues and management at all levels.
- Occasionally have to lift up to 30 pounds
Work Environment
- Some travel may be required for training, etc.
- Work on night shifts and weekends may be required to support business needs.
- Exposure to health risks or conditions that may require the use of Personal Protective Equipment.
