The Justice Administrative Commission (JAC) serves Florida’s State Attorneys, Public Defenders, Criminal Conflict and Civil Regional Counsels, Capital Collateral Regional Counsels, and the Statewide Guardian ad Litem Office. JAC assists these offices with the State’s accounting, budget, financial services, and human resources platforms. JAC also processes bills from private court-appointed attorneys and associated due process services vendors (e.g., court reporters, interpreters, investigators, and expert witnesses) representing indigent individuals throughout Florida. JAC hires great people from a wide variety of backgrounds to develop comprehensive solutions for those we serve.
The Work You Will Do:
The Executive Director seeks to fill the position of the Director of Project Management. This position will apply Project Management knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to manage projects for the Justice Administrative Commission. The Director will:
- Initiate projects by working with the Sponsor to identify stakeholders, create a project charter, and define the scope of the project.
- Manage the Project Management lifecycle from beginning to end and communicate frequently with stakeholders and project teams to ensure stakeholder and project team buy-in and progress.
- Manage the relationships with relevant stakeholders.
- Create Project Management plans as defined in the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) to assist in defining the project and track progress. Maintain comprehensive documentation.
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
- Manage budgetary objectives and adjust project constraints based on financial analysis.
- Measure performance using appropriate project management tools and techniques. Develop and maintain spreadsheets, diagrams, and charts to be able to communicate progress to stakeholders.
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Report and escalate issues to management as needed.
- Work with Functional Managers and the Sponsor to coordinate internal resources and ensure they are available when needed.
- Establish and maintain JAC’s project management standards, standard operating procedures, and templates.
- Curate JAC’s project management central repository.
- Assist in procuring outside vendors. Meet with vendors to assess their progress and clarify specific requirements of each project.
- Use and continually develop leadership skills.
- Attend conferences and training as required to maintain proficiency.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
