Associate General CounselJob Description Summary
Provide legal support for the university and health systems as it relates to tax and benefits, development activities, commercial agreements as well as other transactional activities. Advise on a wide range of legal issues impacting tax and benefits, development activities, regulatory issues and administrative policies. The attorney also will be responsible for negotiation and documentation of such transactions, due diligence activities, and preparation of governing body resolutions. Provide general legal advice to senior management, staff and employees as it relates to areas of tax and benefits, and development to reduce exposure to legal risks and to promote compliance with legal requirements.Job Description
Job Responsibilities
- Provide legal support senior management, staff and employees on all legal affairs related to tax and benefits, development activities and related transactional activities to the University and Health System.
- Guides strategy relating to tax planning, employee benefits program and development activities. Maintains knowledge of regulatory concerns related to tax, the employee benefits program, development, and administrative policies.
- Negotiate, review and draft agreements and other documentation for such transactions, perform due diligence activities and prepare governing body resolutions.
- Manage and oversee the work of outside attorneys dealing with transactional activities and related issues.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- Doctor of Law and 5 to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
