About the role

Summary

The Clinical Coordinator coordinates the clinical components of the pharmacy department.  Works with all the pharmacists to optimize their clinical skills. In addition, the Clinical Coordinator will work with physicians, nurses, and other ancillary members of the patient care team to optimize drug therapy through pharmacodynamic and/or pharmacokinetics education.

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

Minimum:            B.S.-Pharmacy
Preferred:            PharmD degree 

 

EXPERIENCE:

 

Minimum:            Previous hospital pharmacy experience.
Preferred:            Three (3)years of acute care hospital pharmacy experience.

 

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE/REGISTRATION: 

 

Current Florida license

 

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: 

 

Consultant license and Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy preferred

Ensure clinical pharmacy program provides patient-centered, cost-effective, and safe care. Develop new clinical pharmacy programs and services and ensure viability of new services in terms of patient care, cost-effectiveness, and patient safety. Develop protocols and guidelines in conjunction with multidisciplinary teams, as applicable, that support the creation and maintenance of the clinical pharmacy program. Provide support to the organization’s Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee and other pertinent hospital committees, which may include coordinating the agenda, scheduling, MUEs, formulary management, protocol and guideline development, etc. Oversee patient monitoring to evaluate and optimize patient outcomes, drug utilization and patient compliance, detecting and addressing Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs), etc.

Education:

Required: Pharm.
D. or BS in Pharmacy

Experience:

3 years or residency training; 1 year of supervisory experience

Certifications:

Required: Pharmacy license
Preferred: Board Certification in Specialty area, CGP, etc.

Physical Demands:

Lift/position up to 50 lbs. Push/pull up to 50 lbs. of force. Frequent standing and walking. Frequent reaching, stooping, and bending. Manual dexterity, mobility, touch, auditory to perform all the related duties of the position.
