Job Summary
Provides technical support and conduct technical procedures for primary research investigators with a particular emphasis on immune-oncology research.
Essential Functions
• Conducts technical laboratory procedures including (but not limited to)
- research specimen processing,
- cell culture
- clinical flow cytometry
• Operate and maintain flow cytometry instrumentation and other devices necessary for the performance of laboratory procedures.
• Assists in the monitoring of research laboratory inventory.
• Records experimental observations. and assist in maintaining the storage of research data.
• Assists in organizing and coordinating of the daily and weekly schedule of procedures to be performed.
• Assists in the maintenance of the physical environment.
• Searches library files for articles and abstracts dealing with various projects.
• Supports physicians and medical staff during human clinical investigations
Physical Requirements
Work in fast paced office/laboratory environment. Requires ability to sit or stand for long periods of time. Each employee has the responsibility to work in a safe manner.
Education, Experience and Certifications
Bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution; or
● Associate degree in a laboratory science (chemical or biological science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution, or
● Successful completion of at least a 50-week official US military medical laboratory procedures training course and currently hold or have held the military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Laboratory Technician);
or
● Qualified and served as high complexity testing personnel in a CLIA-certified laboratory as of December 28, 2024, and have done so continuously since December 28, 2024.
