As the GM Architecture - Data, Analytics & AI, you will lead architecture outcomes across Data, Analytics and AI, ensuring data strategy, technology strategy and capability evolution are aligned through effective architecture leadership, governance and workforce management.

 

The role is accountable for architecture outcomes across data, analytics and AI-related capabilities and technologies, whilst acting as the strategic architecture partner to the Chief Data, Analytics and AI Officer and leadership team. Working closely with business, technology and data stakeholders, the role helps shape enterprise data strategy, analytics capabilities, AI adoption and information management outcomes, whilst contributing to enterprise architecture outcomes across the Bank through collaboration with peer architecture leaders, the GM Enterprise Architect and the Group Chief Architect

What will your day look like?

As the GM Architecture – Data, Analytics & AI, you are accountable for:

  • Leading architecture across the Data, Analytics & AI portfolio, including strategy, target states, roadmaps and architecture outcomes.
  • Providing oversight of portfolio capabilities, ensuring Lead Architects effectively govern capability evolution and the associated platforms, products, services and technology assets.
  • Partnering with the Chief Data, Analytics and AI Officer and leadership team to provide architecture leadership, strategic advice and decision support across data, analytics, AI and information management initiatives.
  • Operating portfolio architecture governance and acting as the primary architecture decision authority for significant initiatives and investments.
  • Ensuring architecture resources are effectively deployed to meet portfolio demand, delivery commitments and strategic priorities, whilst resolving capacity, capability and prioritisation constraints.
  • Leading, developing and growing a high-performing architecture workforce, including capability development, succession planning and practice consistency.
  • Collaborating with peer architecture leaders to ensure cross-domain alignment, integration and enterprise coherence.
  • Contributing to enterprise architecture artefacts, standards, roadmaps and governance processes and ensuring architecture perspectives, priorities and requirements from the Data, Analytics & AI portfolio are effectively represented in enterprise architecture, investment and technology decision-making forums.
  • Identifying and managing architecture risks, technical debt, resilience concerns and strategic technology issues.
  • Representing architecture within portfolio leadership, investment and governance forums.

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • 20+ years of experience in Engineering or Data with 5 to 10 years experience leading an architecture team within a large and complex enterprise environment.
  • Strong understanding of data architecture, information management, analytics platforms, AI enablement and data governance.
  • Strong understanding of business, enterprise and technology architecture practices.
  • Experience defining architecture strategies, target states, roadmaps and investment priorities.
  • Demonstrated people leadership experience, including workforce planning, capability development and succession planning.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including experience partnering with CIOs, senior technology leaders and business executives.
  • Experience operating governance forums and influencing strategic technology decisions.
  • Ability to balance business outcomes, technology risk, delivery priorities and enterprise objectives.
