About the Role

The Senior Director, GTM applications is the IT leader with accountability for the applications that support Workday’s Go to Market organizations supporting Platform availability, reliability, and performance along with critical responsibilities driving Platform Security, Internal Application Controls and Merger and Acquisition efforts. The accomplished leader will drive current and future IT SFDC platform org strategy including Standardization, Tech debt reduction, Systems Integrations, Data Migration, capability development in areas of whitespaces, transition to operations. To meet the company’s financial and strategic business objectives, this leader builds trusted relationships with business leaders and teams that result in aligned focus on delivering outcomes and experiences. This focus will be supported by a clear technology and information strategy, prioritized plans, focused execution and predictable, competent delivery of day-to-day technology and information services. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide Technical leadership and mentorship for direct functional area and contributing to the overall GTM team leadership
  • Collaborates across peers group to help drive organizational improvements and operational excellence
  • Builds a high-performance technical product team that can effectively execute and deliver
  • Align as a trusted advisor and strategic team member in order to understand business unit challenges and assist to strategically plan future business capabilities that require technology assistance.
  • Build a clear platform roadmap including new capability authorization, service maturity achievements, inter-dependency mapping, value articulation, user adoption targets, and re-use goals.
  • Collaborate with architecture and operations teams to ensure solution compatibility with company standards.
  • Collaborate with the Project Management Office on the intake process and prioritization of candidate investments across the company.
  • Manages to defined budget by optimizing spend to increase value.  Maintains constant understanding of spend.
  • Optimize the cost of the platform, including resource planning, budget and cost analysis, partner and vendor negotiations.
  • Stays abreast of business, leadership and technology trends and has a demonstrated track record of influencing others to successfully address challenging business problems by applying new ideas and lessons learned.
  • Works collaboratively with counterparts in other GTM functions (i.e. Platform, Marketing, Sales, Support and Services )

About You

Basic Qualifications

  • 15 years of direct and related experience with Go-To-Market functional areas
  • 10 years of experience as a people leader, leading teams, projects, programs or advising the allocation of resources
  • 7 + yrs leading Agile SCRUM teams for the delivery of Salesforce and other technology projects and improvements on an ambitious schedule.
  • Experience with the GTM applications and Salesforce.com environment
  • Extensive background in IT with previous experience in leading M&A activities, preferably with a high-tech company.

Other Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science or MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • Proven strategic planning, critical thinking and influence skills
