About the role

We are currently seeking a qualified, experienced Home Health & Hospice Intake Lead to gather necessary patient insurance information and assign appropriate clinical staff to our patients after admission. As an essential member of our administrative leadership team, the Intake Lead will oversee the entire admissions process and effectively lead our intake team to ensure that our patients receive the best possible care.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Mentoring and training new staff in the admissions/scheduling departments
  • Monitoring the data collected in the admissions/scheduling process for accuracy
  • Coordinating the daily activities of staff members in the department to ensure a high level of customer service
  • ensuring that all staff members in their department are complying with departmental, institutional, and national policies and regulations.
  • Responsible for overseeing certain financial aspects of the admissions/scheduling department, such as the budget, and the resources needed by the department.
  • Conduct general managerial duties, such as leading regular staff meetings within their department, scheduling staff members, providing performance evaluations, setting departmental goals and ensuring the department meets those goals, and interviewing and hiring new staff members.
  • Must be able to multi-task and adjust to changing situations throughout the day.
  • Ability to travel domestically and work occasional weekends.
  • Moderate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.

Requirements

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Three to five years admissions experience in a healthcare setting is required for this job.
  • Working knowledge of various insurance providers and prior authorization requirements.
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Possesses good critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Valid New Mexico Driver's License, and reliable, insured transportation.
