Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior LAN/WAN Engineer to join our team in the Washington, DC. This position supports a 24/7/365 service center. You will have the option of three different shifts (1st, 2nd, and 3rd). This is a part-time position.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform as mid-level contributor with knowledge and experience in local and wide area networking, communications, and related software/hardware within a multi-platform operating environment.
- Responsible for the integration of a network including assisting in the planning, design, installation, maintenance, management, and coordination of the corporate LAN/WAN.
- Current on most technological developments and applications, and helps to evaluate vendor products to make recommendations for purchase.
- May work with Voice and/or Data.
- Deploy, maintain, troubleshoot, and support firewalls, routers, switches, proxies, VPN, DNS, email, and SD-WAN and cloud routing to include Cisco CSRs;
- Optimize network performance to achieve the desired CoS and QoS;
- Monitor and trace network traffic across multiple boundaries to resolve faults;
- Create and manage designs, test plans, RCAs, and AARs;
- Create and maintain secure device configuration baselines;
- Support incident response and project implementation with internal and external teams and third-party vendors;
- Guide and train junior LAN/WAN/Remote engineers
Basic Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field of study
- A minimum of seven (7) years of related experience
- Demonstrated experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting firewalls, routers, switches, proxies, VPN, DNS, email, and SD-WAN and cloud routing
- Demonstrated experience optimizing networks
- Demonstrated experience creating designs, test plans, RCAs, and AARs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient with ServiceNow
- Demonstrated experience guiding and training junior technical staff
Clearance Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must be able to obtain a Public Trust
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time
- Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer
- The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
