Summary

Join an exciting new opportunity with CHS, Inc Animal Nutrition as an Expert Pricing Specialist. This role will focus AN pricing strategy for animal feed products while analyzing market trends and customer demand to set competitive prices that ensure profitability and market share growth. Collaborates with sales, marketing, and supply chain teams to align pricing strategies with business objectives and provide expertise and recommended improvements. Additionally, analyze data to forecast pricing, market, and industry trends while leveraging deep understanding of the animal feed to ultimately make informed decisions that comply with regulatory standards and meets customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the implementation of pricing strategies and monitor their effectiveness. 
  • Detailed analysis and application of business and financial acumen to make pricing decisions that maximize per unit margins and facilitate profitable volume growth.
  • Collaborate with & advise cross-functional teams, including Sales, Production, Marketing, and Finance, to optimize pricing models and strategies to grow revenue while maximizing margins.
  • Establish and maintain pricing governance processes and controls to ensure compliance with regulations and corporate guidelines.​
  • Awareness and understand current costing and work to ensure prices safeguard profitability.
  • Utilize data from various sources to conduct thorough analysis, develop PowerBI reports, generate actionable insights, and advise on pricing decisions with data-driven evidence.​
  • Monitor market trends, raw material trends (with ingredient procurement team), competitor pricing strategies, and industry developments to stay informed, identify potential pricing risks/opportunities, and advise commercial teams accordingly.
  • Analyze market dynamics, customer behavior, and competitive landscape to develop and recommend effective pricing strategies that maximize profitability while maintaining market competitiveness. ​
  • Work with internal teams to evaluate, implement, and manage pricing tools and systems to streamline pricing processes, improve efficiency, and enhance pricing capabilities.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, agriculture, or related field
  • 7+ years experience in animal feed industry or in a pricing related role

Additional Qualifications

  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis software
  • Understanding of market trends and supply chain processes with extensive experience in the animal feed industry, especially in strategic pricing
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards in the animal feed sector or international feed markets
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities with experience in cross-functional team collaboration and negotiation skills 
  • Continuous professional development in pricing strategies and market analysis
  • Advanced degree, master’s or MBA (specifically in economics, business administration, or agricultural economics)

CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications.
