About the role
Job Summary
Manages the operational and personnel activities of the Accounting and Finance department, establishing policies, practices and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Ensures timely financial reporting and closing while abiding by all governmental regulations.
- Leads all audits, both external and internal for applicable areas.
- Responsible for internal controls, financial systems and integrity of all financial data.
- Leads for cash management and accounts receivables accounting. Works towards increased internal control and regional standardization and reduced variances.
- Reviews and approves workpapers for associates including journal entries, account reconciliations, and other reporting schedules.
- Assists associates in developing individual Goals and Objectives (G&Os), provide coaching, support and assessment of talent.
- Collaborates with Business Planning to ensure numerical results and forecast for company decision making.
- Establishes and maintains key KPIs.
- Kaizens and implementations of changes to current business practices to keep costs down.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required.
- 10 or more years of relevant experience including 8-10 years of progressive financial experience and demonstrated leadership ability.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to discuss or transmit primarily factual information to internal and external customers.
- Strong analytical skills to investigate, interpret and reconcile information from several distinct sources in situations where conclusions or resolutions are discernible.
- Understanding of current accounting operational structure to support customer service.
- Customer service skills to display a service-oriented attitude in addressing and responding to customer issues.
- Advanced understanding of accounting principles and basic tax knowledge.
- Project management skills.
- Advanced systems knowledge (Oracle, SAP, Excel).
- Complete understanding of the financial close process.
- Understanding of local and state compliance requirements (payroll, property, sales, tax).
- People management.
- Ability to develop and maintain G&Os.
