About the role

CPFD has a, Full-Time, Sr. Warehouse Lead position open in the Puyallup, WA Chill/Freezer Warehouse. Under the direction of the Whs. Supervisor, oversee and participate in the shipping, receiving, and storing of all products, inventory/fixed assets, maintain receiving and inventory control records and prepare related reports; serve as a lead over one or more assigned warehouse functions; train and provide lead work direction and guidance to assigned staff. Requires working in both freeze and chill areas.

Rate of Pay: 
  • Salary Range: $ 24+ per hour
  • Yearly annual increases every January

Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and participate in the shipping, receiving, and storing of all products.
  • Oversee and participate in the receiving, unloading and inspection of shipments for damage and conformity to purchase order specifications and packing slips; contact buyers regarding shortages, damaged goods or other discrepancies; complete receiving, discrepancy and follow-up reports.
  • Oversee and participate in the stocking of products; plan storage locations; determine proper location of products to allow for maximum space utilization.
  • Serve as a lead over an assigned warehouse function; train and provide lead work direction and guidance to assigned staff; prioritize work assignments; participate in the hiring and screening of new applicants as assigned. 
  • Fill, prioritize and process orders; pull, pack and ship items according to established procedures.
  • Answer telephones and greet and assist visitors; provide information and resolve issues concerning requisitions, stock on hand, back orders and shipment discrepancies, damage or storage.
  • Prepare, maintain and submit a variety of records and reports related to warehouse operations; prepare paperwork for return for credits and verify receipt of return for credits merchandise.
  • Oversee preparation of inventory records as assigned; participate in tagging fixed assets and maintaining associated records.
  • Oversee and participate in the performance of periodic and annual physical inventories; conduct physical inventories.
  • Operate a variety of warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, operate a computer and assigned software to input data and generate reports.
  • Maintain the warehouse in a clean, orderly, safe and secure condition; maintain correct temperature conditions for food storage and ensure food service storage areas are in compliance with applicable laws, codes, rules and regulations.
  • Make recommendations regarding proper storage, inventory and warehousing procedures and improvements in warehouse efficiency.
  • Serve as the Warehouse Supervisor in the absence of the Warehouse Supervisor as assigned. 
  • Perform related duties as assigned. 
Job Requirements:Education:  Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school and three years of responsible warehouse experience involving the receipt, storage and issuance of supplies and equipment. Experience:  Possession of a valid Washington State driver’s license at time of appointment, and throughout employment in a position in this classification.  Valid Forklift Certification.Knowledge:  Warehouse operations, procedures, equipment and terminology. Use and terminology of requisitions, purchase orders, invoices and other warehouse documents. Company organization, operations, policies and objectives. Principles and practices of training and providing work direction. Methods of storing equipment, materials, food and supplies. Inventory control and fixed asset methods.Proper methods of loading and unloading trucks. Space utilization and inventory techniques. Operation of warehouse equipment including forklifts, hand trucks and pallet jacks. Health and safety regulations. Basic math. Traffic laws, defensive driving techniques and rules of the road.
