Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer to be based in Los Angeles, CA.

Position Details:

• Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team
• Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise
• Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others
• Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables
• Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for project.
• Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package
• Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings
• Prepares technical specification sections
• Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• BA/BS + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 years of engineering experience within the state of California
• 8+ years of Traffic Design and Analysis experience
• 2+ year of Caltrans Design experience
• Design Experience with Traffic Signals, Ramp Metering, ITS elements, Highway Lighting and Signing and Striping
• Design Experience with Stage Construction, Traffic Handling plans, and TMP reports
• Experience in traffic operational analysis including traffic projections, analysis, and simulation; traffic safety analysis, traffic signal warrants, traffic signal and pedestrian crossing control system analysis, and design; and traffic signing and pavement marking analysis and design
• Experience with traffic analysis and simulation / modeling software including: Synchro/SimTraffic, VISSIM, HCS, and other platforms utilized by local agencies
• Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office programs and other relevant software programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Must be highly self-motivated with the ability to successfully multi-task, perform detail-oriented work, work independently, and demonstrate effective time management skills
• Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures
• Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving design calculations, analysis, planning, and writing technical reports
• PE is highly preferred

Additional Information

• Offered rate of compensation (California locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $120,000- 168,000/yr.
