Overview
IT Hardware/Software Analyst
Location: Stony Brook, NY
Schedule: Full time - 40 hour work week
Days/Hours: M-F, 8 hour shifts
Salary Range: $68,937 - $84,152 (pay will be determined based on experience, preferred qualifications, and education)

Responsibilities
Summary:
At Stony Brook Medicine, the IT Hardware/Software Support Analyst is a valuable member of our IT team, supporting the cardiology service line. The candidate will support the technology solutions used throughout Stony Brook Medicine, including ambulatory sites such as those on eastern Long Island. The candidate will support applications, hardware and clinical devices which are used in cardiology.
The candidates will demonstrate superior communication and organizational skills, adhering to our high standard of excellence. The candidate will interact with a variety of stakeholders, including physicians, clinicians, operations personnel and information technology analysts and technicians to maintain and advance our excellent level of service.
Job Duties and Essential Functions:
- Provides technical and application support for clinical applications, including system implementations and upgrades.
- Maintains computers images for specialized and diagnostic workstations.
- Maintains and deploys diagnostic workstations used for primary diagnostic interpretation of medical images.
- Maintains clinical devices used throughout the cardiology service line
- Maintains inventory of computer images, diagnostic workstations, clinical devices.
- Performs preventative maintenance including patching to ensure compliance with organizational and industry standards related to safety and security.
- Assists in testing system functionality and validation.
- Engages in issue tracking, follow up and resolution.
- Escalates major issues and works closely with vendors and internal resources to resolve open issues.
- Provides workflow support to users, including training and education.
- Develops documentation for technical and non-technical audiences.
Qualifications
Required Education and Qualifications:
- A.A.S. degree with minimum two (2) years relevant desktop/server support experience in Healthcare IT.
- In lieu of A.A.S. degree, technical certifications in relevant IT (desktop/server support) and minimum two (2) years relevant desktop/server support experience in Healthcare IT.
- 3-5 years of experience providing technical support.
- Experience maintaining computer images and networked devices.
- Experience managing large computer and device inventories.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail oriented and have strong analytical and organizational skills.
Preferred Education and Qualifications:
- Strongly preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
- Experience in healthcare Information Technology supporting clinical workflows.
- Experience with clinical devices and integration.
- 1-3 years of experience providing application support.
- Working knowledge of HL7 interfaces & working knowledge of DICOM protocol.
