Overview:

The Office of Development and Alumni Affairs at Quinnipiac University is seeking a Senior Director of Development for Health Affairs to lead philanthropic efforts in support of the School of Nursing, the School of Health Sciences, and the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine.

The Senior Director will play a pivotal role in securing transformational gifts that align with each school’s strategic funding priorities and Quinnipiac’s comprehensive campaign, For the Ambitious. Working closely with the deans of each school, you will cultivate relationships with major donor prospects and drive impactful philanthropy that shapes the future of healthcare education.

Lead & Strategize: Drive fundraising initiatives to strengthen support for health affairs programs.
Engage & Cultivate: Manage a portfolio of 120 major gift prospects, each capable of making a minimum gift of $50,000.
Deliver Excellence: Provide concierge-level donor service, ensuring a highly personalized and meaningful engagement experience.
Inspire Philanthropy: Secure major gifts, establish endowed scholarships and funds, and exceed revenue and donor visit goals.

Responsibilities:
  • Works collaboratively with the deans of the three schools to engage major prospects to secure philanthropic support for the schools’ funding priorities and strategic initiatives. Provides counsel, coaching, and briefing to the deans prior to and after donor meetings. Engages with faculty and staff and educates them about development at the schools
  • Conducts a minimum of 120 intentional personal visits with current and prospective donors. Promptly documents all contacts with donor in QU’s CRM to build the donor’s story and history with the University
  • Creatively cultivates, solicits, and stewards prospects and donors, and conducts meaningful discovery work to build the major gift pipeline
  • Plans and executes personalized donor strategy plans and well-written proposals
  • Connects highly qualified benefactors to the president, deans and faculty to deepen their relationship with the University and increase their philanthropic commitment
  • Maintains a portfolio of major prospects for the purpose of supporting the University
  • Supervises the assistant director of development for health affairs
  • Provides timely and accurate reports to management regarding prospect activity as needed
  • Leverages available resources to maximize alumni support and collaborates with colleagues in Planned Giving, Parent Development, Annual Giving, Alumni Affairs, and Advancement Services in support of divisional and institutional goals. Develops new programs and initiatives to provide opportunities for meaningful prospect engagement with the schools
  • Crafts strategy for schools around annual giving activities, Bobcats Unite, and other crowdfunding opportunities as may arise from time to time
  • Utilizes events within the schools and at the Univ
