Position Title: Senior Contract Specialist

Reports To: Manager, Contracts

Department: Contracts

Work Location: United States (Remote)

Additional Work Location: Philippines (Remote)

Classification: Salary, Exempt

1. We are looking for experienced paralegals who will assist in reviewing, analyzing, and revising contracts.  Please describe your legal background in detail.

2. We operate exclusively in the cloud.  Daily tasks include navigating Salesforce to manage incoming contract requests, using DocuSign Contract Lifecycle Management to route contracts for review and signature, setting up and joining web conferences to discuss contract terms, and collaborating with team members via Slack.  Please describe your comfort level with cloud technology and provide examples of programs you have used in prior roles.

3. You will be working remotely and must be able to complete time-sensitive tasks with minimal supervision.  Please describe your work ethic and personal strategies for time management and task organization.

Position Summary

Under the general leadership of the Manager of Contracts, the Senior Contract Specialist serves as a liaison between the Company and the Customer to streamline the contracting process by improving communication and resolving issues.  To succeed in this role, one must have a thorough understanding of corporate business rules, contract agreements, legal terminology, and laws pertaining to the business and industries the business services.  Ideal candidates are detail-oriented and excellent communicators.

Key Competencies

  • Advocating for Company interests while respecting the needs of the Customer.

  • Serving as the primary liaison for contract request, negotiation, and approval.

  • Determining comprehensive contract strategy by working with staff on all levels of the company.

  • Sharing and clarifying contract processes, conditions, and details for the purpose of facilitating quick mutual resolutions between various parties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partners with Sales staff for excellent customer relations throughout the initial stages of the contract lifecycle (i.e., request, negotiation, and approval).

  • Provides advice on appropriate contract strategy.

  • Reviews complex contracts and prepares specialized responses for contract modifications.

  • Analyzes significant and/or unique contract requirements, special provisions, and terms and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, and corporate policies, and business rules and communicates results.

  • Develops negotiation strategy and leads negotiation on complex contractual issues.

  • Partners with legal counsel to draft and revise changes as needed and presents revised documents to the Customer.

  • Identifies potential business risks posed by Customer’s contract changes.

  • Identifies deliverables such as reporting requirements and notifies the appropriate teams.

  • Tracks complex contracts against deadlines, reporting status and key issues to Director of Contracts, Contract Administration Manager, and Sales staff.

  • Prepares summaries of contract terms and conditions and regulatory requirements for presentation to senior management.

  • Assists and/or provides input into the formulation, development, or revision of operating policies, procedures, and strategies for contract lifecycle management.

  • Participates in continuous improvement through special projects.

  • Support LLS’ Quality Management System (QMS) to continually improve the Division’s processes, procedures, and services; and thereby increase efficiency, productivity, effectiveness and customer satisfaction.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role is listed below. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within this location. LanguageLine Solutions’ current salary range for this position for US California Remote and US Remote is $75,000–$80,000 USD. The offered salary may vary based on experience, education, and location.
