Consulting, Senior Consultant

Deloitte Consulting LLP seeks a Consulting, Senior Consultant in Minneapolis, Minnesota and various unanticipated Deloitte office locations and client sites nationally.

Work You’ll Do
Drive teams that perform reserve analyses, including Statements of Actuarial Opinion, pricing, mergers and acquisitions, financial modeling, economic capital modeling, enterprise risk management, new product development, strategic planning, pricing strategy development, target market assessments, competitive assessments of coverage and rating, development of rating models and factors for new product development and product enhancements, profitability analysis and audit support. Design and evaluate employee benefit programs with an emphasis on pension and post-retirement medical and insurance plans; determine the adequacy, funding requirements, and financial impact of these plans, and ensure compliance with government regulations and financial accounting standards. Provide insurance and retirement industry insight and analytical support using data mining, pattern matching, data visualization, and predictive modelling tools to produce analysis and algorithms that help businesses make better decisions, in accordance with IRS regulations.
• 50% Travel required nationally.
• Telecommuting permitted.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (willing to accept 3-year US or foreign degree) in Business Administration, any STEM field, or a related field. Must have 2 years of related work experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. Position requires 2 years of related work experience in each of the following:
• Identifying and recording key deadlines for the workstream in the engagement to ensure clear communication, organization, and coordination between multiple parties, utilizing Microsoft (MS) Excel;
• Searching and mining large data sets to discover meaningful patterns, trends and relationships to identify success measures and analysis;
• Calculating deferred acquisition costs, unpaid claims liabilities and benefit reserves for insurance and annuity products under Long Duration Targeted Improvements (LDTI) using Actuarial Modeling Systems Prophet, and Advanced MS Excel;
• Validating assumptions applied in projections and testing key actuarial reserve balances using custom built Excel tools to replicate what actuarial models calculate on first principle basis;
• Providing analytical and technical support by performing financial statements analysis, including GAAP & STAT, underlying assets performance, projected cash flows, analytics reconciliation, trending analysis, industry benchmarking and sensitivity analysis, utilizing Actuarial Modeling systems Prophet, Risk Agility, and MS Excel under LDTI, Current GAAP and Principle Based Reporting (PBR);
• Conducting testing and validation of models using custom built MS Excel tools to ensure adequacy and reformulate models as necessary;
• Pricing and Repricing insurance and annuity products, using Actuarial Modeling systems, Risk Agility, Prophet, and Advanced MS Excel; and
• Utilizing coding language C++, & VBA to maintain and update Actuarial Models including Risk Agility and Prophet.

Hours: M-F, 40 hours/week;
Annual Salary: $124,950.00-$208,250.00
