The Opportunity

Tasks: Identify and manage existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role. Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled. Follow written risk and compliance policies and procedures for business activities. Design, develop, code, and test significant technical solutions collaborating with senior and lead engineers. Lead code/design reviews to ensure smooth daily operations and accurate planning at a team level. Organize work and lead team to deliver features and solutions. Resolve complex production issues and lead troubleshooting of end-to-end solutions that span multiple applications and systems. Mentor and coach junior engineers. Work with architecture to help influence directions for key technologies within a specific domain. Provide support to the Enterprise and impact organizational growth and effectiveness through delivering best in class technology solutions. Engage in all phases of the software systems and application development lifecycle which include gathering and analyzing requirements, designing, testing, documenting and implementing software, responding to outages. May telecommute.
Requirements: Will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Software, Computer Engineering, Applied Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, or related field followed by 6 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in an engineering-related occupation. Alternatively, will accept a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Software, Computer Engineering, Applied Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, or related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in an engineering-related occupation. Position requires:
- Building and maintaining Infrastructure in AWS;
- Building CICD pipelines using Jenkins;
- Python and Bash Shell Scripting;
- Onboarding and Offboarding new users;
- Relational database design and optimization with AWS RDS or Postgres;
- Writing IAM policies and defining security groups to maintain least amount of access privilege;
- Server administration, deploying, and managing Ubuntu, CentOS, and RHEL servers;
- Infrastructure Development and Operations involving AWS EC2, EBS, S3, VPC, SES, ELB, VPN, Autoscaling, CloudFront, CloudFormation, ElastiCache, OpenSearch, CloudWatch and SNS;
- Database configuration and operations of Relational databases: MySQL and PostgreSQL;
- MongoDB;
- Cloud databases: AWS RDS, ElastiCache, and Document DB;
- Developing Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and end-to-end automation using tools: Git, Bash, and Jenkins;
- Source Code Management (Version Control System) tools: GitHub or GitLab;
- Identifying Access and Password policy management and role-based access to ensure least privileges for users;
- IaC (Infrastructure as Code) using Terraform; and
- Docker or Kubernete.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.
