 This position is accountable for assisting with review and analysis of clinical data obtained from patients wearing the ASSURE WCD.  Additionally, the intern will prepare a summary of the results. 

 At the conclusion of the internship, the intern will have a clear understanding of how their studies directly contribute to their course of study and/or the medical device industry. 

 This is a part-time summer internship position (less than 30 hours a week), working with the Clinical Marketing team at Kestra.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Summarize published literature related to Wearable Cardioverter Defibrillator (WCD) therapy
  • Analyze medical history and Wearable Cardioverter Defibrillator performance data
  • Summarize findings of research and assist in writing reports
  • Project Presentation: Present internship results and findings to the Clinical Marketing team and Kestra executive leadership at the conclusion of the internship.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience Required:

  • 2nd year or higher undergraduate in Biology or Engineering related field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with MS Office
  • Strong desire to learn about cardiovascular devices

Preferred:

  • Experienced user of Excel
  • Knowledge of medical terminology

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Indoor open office environment
  • Minimal noise volume typical to an office environment
  • Extended/overtime hours when needed
  • Drug-free

 

INTERNSHIP ELIGIBILITY

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within the past 6 months
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment with Kestra Medical Technologies
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Must provide own transportation to/from work
  • Must successful complete and pass a criminal and employment background screening that meets the allowable FDA requirements and is in accordance with EEOC rules and regulations
  • Must successfully pass a pre-internship drug screen

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Frequent repetitive motions that may include wrists, hands and/or fingers, such as keyboard and mouse usage
  • Frequent stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time
  • Frequent computers use
  • Frequent phone and other business machine use
  • Occasional lifting up to 20 pounds

 

TRAVEL

  • Occasional travel, domestic and international, may be required, less than 10%
