In Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SETC) Effectors Center we integrate, verify, and validate our products. We put our systems together, exercise them in the lab or in the field, measure and analyze performance, and make sure our products work the first time and every time. To accomplish this, we develop plans and procedures, debug and evaluate system functions and interfaces, develop test environments, and work together with our customers.

The Systems Integration and Test (SIT) Advanced Technology (AT) Department in the Effectors Center is seeking a Guidance Section SI&T Team Lead for a Program in the Advanced Air Warfare System Sub-Strategic Business Unit under the AT SBU. This leadership role involves coordinating and managing a cross-functional team through the planning, building, and testing of multiple GS units prior to delivery.

What You Will Do

  • Lead a cross-functional team composed of more than 15 members to support Integration and qualification of the development efforts on a complex Guidance Section.  

  • Serve as the primary communicator to both the program team and customer, providing updates on status, achievements, challenges, and support requirements.

  • Manage the team’s budget and schedule, ensuring cost targets and schedule milestones are achieved while maintaining technical excellence in alignment with program risk assessments.

  • Partner with the Business Manager to monitor and manage EVMS (Earned Value Management System), oversee Estimated-at-Completion (EAC) calculations, and report key business metrics to program and functional leadership.

  • Offer technical guidance and expertise to the team to ensure successful program execution.

  • Collaborate extensively with Program Managers, Engineering Directorate Leaders, Chief Engineers, Technical Subject Matter Experts, and other program leads to ensure alignment with program goals and objectives.

  • Provide leadership to a multidisciplinary team, addressing task prioritization, resource allocation, and risk mitigation to meet technical, cost, and schedule objectives. Promote a culture of collaboration and support team development through mentorship to drive program success.

Qualifications You Must Have 

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 10 years of prior engineering experience. 

  • EVMS and CAM certified

  • Experience with hands-on work in laboratory environments.

  • Experience with development testing at a systems/subsystem level

  • Experience working with and managing requirements.

  • Experience in the early development phases of complex subsystems.

  • Experience in team leadership roles.

  • Experience coordinating across multiple disciplines within engineering.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience in guidance section-level integration in either development or production.

  • Experience with test equipment and/or test environments.

  • Experience with qualification testing.

  • Experience with Radio Frequency (RF) testing

  • Proficiency in risk management, including identifying, tracking, and mitigating risks.

  • Experience in collecting and evaluating data to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
