We are looking for a Sr. Research Scientist to join our Agricultural Solutions team in Research Triangle Park, NC.
This position offers a hybrid working arrangement - 3 days in the office per week, and 2 working remotely from home. Domestic relocation assistance is available, if applicable.

Together with Global Insecticide and Seed Treatment (ST) marketing & Crop Systems, define research targets for nematicides. Align & drive scouting, screening and evaluation efforts, including both proprietary and 3rd party technologies. Your role also involves defining R&D project objectives, managing nematicide research projects, and coordinating activities with global and relevant business units.

- Defining and maintaining BASF Nematicide Research Targets.
- Strategically managing nematicide R&D projects, collaborating with our business unit, third parties, and regional teams.
- Operational management of all North America nematicide R&D projects, working closely with the US ST team to achieve project objectives.
- Serving as the technical knowledge center for ST & soil-applied nematicides globally, providing support to the North America business and coordinating interactions with other knowledge centers.
If you...
- Possess an MSc or PhD in a biological or agricultural science such as nematology, entomology, plant pathology, agronomy, agricultural business, or a related field.
- Have a minimum of 6 years’ experience with a MSc or 3 years' experience with a PhD in the crop protection field and greenhouse research.
- Demonstrate a strong technical knowledge of nematodes and nematicides, including understanding technical market drivers and expertise in R&D methodology, such as efficacy testing.
- Exhibit strong communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to effectively collaborate with various internal and external teams.
- Be recognized within BASF and/or the agriculture industry for your expertise in designing, implementing, and managing R&D projects, with some external influence within the R&D community.
- Possess strong project management skills, including experience in marketing, formulation development, regulatory affairs, stewardship, and collaborating with regional Seed Treatment R&D leads.
- Ability to travel up to 10% - domestically and internationally.
