Primary Responsibilities:
- Boiler Water Testing and maintenance
- Test pH, hardness, conductivity, etc. daily
- Make chemical additions to the boiler water based on test results.
- Monitor process tank temperatures and pump pressures as displayed on control system in the boiler room.
- Change out heat exchanger plates.
- Clean and inspect heat exchanger plates.
- Maintain seals on heat exchanger plates.
- Process tank testing and maintenance
- Daily tests on pickling tanks including sulfuric acid concentration, temperature, and density.
- Post results on SPC charts
- Make sulfuric acid and inhibitor additions to tanks as required.
- Daily tests on flux tank including temperature and density.
- Post results on SPC charts and complete required checklists.
- Bi-weekly tests on flux including ACN (Ammonium Chloride Number), pH, iron, and sulfate concentrations.
- Make additions of ammonium chloride, barium chloride, raw flux, and water as required.
- Beta, Baghouse, Smelter, and Filter Press Operations required- complete necessary trouble shooting and repairs where applicable. (Will Train)
- Daily tests on pickling tanks including sulfuric acid concentration, temperature, and density.
- Monitor and order process supplies including sulfuric acid, flux tank chemicals, aluminum shot, etc. as required.
- Manage, print, and file process documents including SPC charts, test results, and production data sheets.
- Training other employees
- Work with Management, Engineering and Quality Departments and implement any changes made in processes and ensure they are being attained.
- Maintain a safe working environment- 6S requirements in respective areas and machines.
Qualifications:
- HS graduate
- Fluent in English – both written and spoken (Bilingual a plus)
- Computer skills required – Microsoft Excel, Word, SharePoint
- Ability to search, find and fill out electronic forms.
- Mechanical background
- This position will require some disassembly/assembly and assessment of process equipment.
- Detail oriented
- Self-starter, ability to stay on task with minimal supervision.
- Previous experience in chemical testing, Quality Functions and Maintenance a plus
Pay/Shifts
- Starting Pay $23.00-26.00 / Shift Differential $.75-Depening on experience.
- 5 Days Per Week with Alternating Saturdays when able – Occasional Sundays
- 1stShift – Start 5:00 a.m.; 2ndShift – Start 3:30 p.m.
