Senior Frontend Engineer (m/f/d)

Why we need you

We are looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer with expertise in React to play an essential role in developing a data-intensive enterprise application. The ideal candidate will work with a modern tech stack, including React, Material UI (MUI), Vite, React Query, Zustand, and Pub/Sub architectures, focusing on real-time data visualisation and complex UI components such as graphs and trees.
You will also collaborate on unit and UI automation testing using Vitest and Playwright as part of our commitment to high-quality, well-tested code. Our infrastructure is built on Azure DevOps, and you'll play a key role in improving CI/CD processes and overall frontend architecture.

What to expect

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance frontend solutions for enterprise-grade applications using React, MUI, and Vite.
• Contribute and drive the creation of data-intensive features, focusing on interactive and performant visualisations (graphs, trees, etc.) for large datasets.
• Collaborate closely with product, backend, and design teams to ensure smooth delivery of high-quality features.
• Leverage React Query for server-state management and Zustand for global state management across the application.
• Implement real-time updates using Pub/Sub architectures and ensure data consistency and performance across components.
• Write and maintain unit tests using Vitest and UI automation tests using Playwright, ensuring high code coverage and stability in production.
• Utilise Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines and ensure a smooth integration, testing, and deployment of front-end features.
• Mentor and guide junior developers, perform code reviews and drive best practices in front-end architecture and design.
• Optimise application performance through lazy loading, memoisation, and efficient rendering techniques to ensure smooth handling of complex data visualisations.

Your profile in short

• 5+ years of professional experience in frontend development, with deep expertise in React.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and experience with Material UI (MUI) or similar component libraries.
• Hands-on experience with Vite or other modern build tools.
• Proficiency in React Query for server-state management and Zustand or similar state management libraries.
• Solid understanding of Pub/Sub architectures for real-time data integration.
• Experience with building interactive data visualisations, handling large datasets, and optimising for performance.
• Strong experience with testing frameworks. Working experience with Vitest for unit tests and Playwright for UI automation is an added advantage.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps for CI/CD, pipelines, and automated deployment workflows.
• Excellent understanding of performance optimisation techniques, including lazy loading, code splitting, and caching.
• Proficient in version control (Git) and experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with Graph and Tree visualisation libraries (e.g., D3.js, yfiles).
• Familiarity with WebSockets for real-time data handling.
• Experience with Server-Side Rendering (SSR) and Web Workers for performance improvements.
• Experience with Next.js or similar frameworks.
