Electrical Construction Manager

 

Bilfinger Industrial Services Inc. known as a leading provider of complex, comprehensive industrial services is seeking an Electrical Construction Manager at our Iowa City location. This position requires a self-motivated individual to perform the detailed planning and scheduling of construction work and ensure that the project is constructed safely and in accordance with all design, budget, and schedule requirements.  

 

Responsibilities include:

  • This individual will be responsible for the detailed planning and scheduling of the electrical work to which they are assigned. 
  • Responsibilities include estimating, detailed material take-offs, sizing of conduit, and wiring per NEC, and procurement of field material.
  • Integrate multiple engineering information packages and develop construction plans and other deliverables for the field and supervision.
  • Reviewing engineering information packages for constructability and completeness.
  • Insures that proper safety procedures are specified and documented on all planned jobs.
  • Develops a plan for completion of all work orders, including an estimate of the labor required and a listing of the parts or materials needed.
  • Specifies tools and special equipment necessary for completion of the work order.
  • Developing detailed construction plans and other deliverables for the field and supervision.
  • Work with Procurement, Engineering and outside suppliers as required to order all parts and materials required to complete any given task and lists them in the work order plan.
  • Participates in planning detailed shutdown and turnaround work.
  • Orderly flow of the work order system ensuring all work requested by the customer is completed on a timely basis as indicated by the work priority.
  • Work closely with other Construction Managers to ensure job is running as a unit toward a common goal.
  • Direct interface with Owner & Engineers.
  • Responsible for Construction Cost Management including change orders for jobs they are responsible for.
  • Subcontractor bid package writing.

Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate should have a B.S. in Engineering or Construction Management, with 2 to 3 years of Industrial Construction experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, time management and organizational skills are required.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • Understanding of LEAN principles preferred.
  • OSHA 10 & 30 Training preferred.
