About the role

Summary

We are seeking a qualified, professional who possesses basic knowledge of neuroimaging and electrophysiology data analysis. This position will function in the clinical research section of the Department of Neurology (Parkinson's Disease Clinic Center and Movement Disorders Clinic). The goal of the lab is to understand the wiring diagram of the brain and how it is altered in brain disorders. The Research Assistant will be in charge of data storage, processing and analysis of neuroimaging and electrophysiology data, and assist in grant and manuscript writing.

 

This position offers the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement.

Job Duties

• Manages MRI, clinical and electrophysiology data: Responsible for maintaining the integrity of existing data, development and support of databases.
• Processes MRI data: perform data processing pipelines for anatomical, diffusion-weighted, and resting-state functional connectivity MRI data using common software including FreeSurfer, FSL, ANTS, MRtrix, and fMRIprep.
• Analyzes MRI in conjunction with behavioral and electrophysiology data: Performs basic statistical analyses as guided by the Principal Investigator.
• Interprets results using statistical techniques and provides preliminary and final reports in support of strategic goals.
• Participates in the preparation of manuscript and grant writing.
• Assists in the preparation of IRB communications related to the study protocol (amendments, renewals, data sharing agreements)
 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Two years of relevant experience.
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Neuroscience, Bioengineering or Biomedical Sciences.
  • Experience with python and shell scripts.
  • Working knowledge of neuroimaging packages especially FreeSurfer, FSL, MRtrix, ANTS, and fMRIprep.
  • Basic understanding of standard neuroimage preprocessing steps such as alignment, registration, warping, denoising.
