Behavioral Health Clinical Receptionist

Position Summary:  We are looking for a compassionate and detail-oriented Behavioral Health Clinical Receptionist to join our team. This role combines administrative excellence with light clinical support to ensure a smooth and welcoming experience for clients. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced behavioral health environment, interacting with diverse populations, and supporting both clients and clinical staff.

This is a full time position.

Key Responsibilities:

Front Desk & Administrative Duties:

• Greet clients and visitors with warmth and professionalism
• Manage check-in/check-out procedures and appointment scheduling
• Answer and direct phone calls, messages, and inquiries
• Verify insurance information and collect co-pays
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in the EHR system
• Coordinate referrals and assist with service navigation as needed
• Monitor waiting room activity and ensure a calm, supportive environment

Clinical Support Duties:

• Take and document vital signs (e.g. blood pressure, temperature, pulse)
• Room patients and prepare them for provider sessions
• Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use
• Support providers with basic clinical tasks as needed

Work Environment:

• Outpatient behavioral health clinic
• Collaborative team of clinicians, care managers and administrative staff
• May involve occasional exposure to emotionally intense situations

Qualifications

• Proficiency in EHR systems and basic computer applications
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations with empathy
• CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
