Our small, dynamic team is seeking a Senior Director of Product Management who is eager to address exciting challenges and craft the future of the internet. What you’ll do:
  • Design and shape global product strategies for Mozilla’s social media products.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify new social media product opportunities and spearhead feature development.
  • Apply your creative mentality and extensive experience to produce outstanding results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Champion inclusivity and ensure the safety of our users, fostering a culture that respects and supports individuals of all genders and backgrounds.
  • Identify and develop strategic partnerships to accelerate momentum.
  • Balance technical and business insight; able to communicate what is possible and what will have the biggest impact on business.
  • Build strong relationships internally and externally; an active listener and clear communicator; seeks understanding.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and define product strategy and roadmaps for our social portfolio
  • Lead product prioritization while balancing near-term results and longer-term investment in various platforms.
  • Be a product evangelist and partner closely with business team members and engineering leaders.
  • Optimally communicate strategies and trade-offs up to a range of senior leaders and down to development teams.
  • Engage with standards bodies and open source projects to enable healthy long term growth of the Fediverse.
  • Synthesize market changes and technology/people/skills investments needed to advance our social media and open-community products.
What you’ll bring: 
  • Subject matter expertise in technologies and products required to bring social media platforms to market, at scale and globally.
  • Prior experience driving a budget process to include assessment of: impact, risk analysis, prioritization, and analysis.
  • Experience working with external partners both in the U.S. and abroad in a product management role.
  • Extensive experience identifying customer and business problems, participating in the product vision, and writing clear/concise requirements with consideration for the end-to-end experience.
  • An appreciation for integrity and approach to business, decision-making, and responsibilities honestly and openly.
Qualifications:
  • 10-15+ years in the high tech industry with experience owning products from inception to launch at a combination of both small and large organizations.
  • Proven director level experience leading geographically distributed teams to include remote teams.
  • You have led user engagement for a high-traffic product with millions of users.
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills, which include active listening and the ability to present complex ideas in concise written and verbal descriptions easily understood by both technical and non-technical audiences.
