About the Role

Swifts Global Security - CSO Office & Strategy, is looking for a Sr. Information Security Technical Writer to join their team. In this role you will support the Global Security organization to meet its strategic objectives by ensuring a common vision and aligned priorities are documented, tracked and communicated appropriately.

The CSO Office and Strategy mission is to build, evolve and communicate our overall cyber strategy in line with the changing threat landscape, Swift business and technology strategies, industry standard processes and regulatory changes. This team is responsible for translating this strategy into an execution plan and for driving its implementation for both change and run activities. Continuous monitoring of the strategy is supported by established metrics and succinct communication to senior management.

Together with the security teams, the Technical Writer will support the CSO in driving its mission, and will therefore have a transversal role and will help communicate and support the rest of the organization to be successful. Some of those challenges include:

  • Identifying, developing and managing tailored content, including papers and PowerPoints, to articulate the security strategy, key security objectives, project status across all levels in the organization and to external parties.
  • Collaborating with the SAFE program team to further implement expected security behaviors across the enterprise, ensure communications are relevant, build excitement and stimulate the right level of vigilance across Swift.
  • Collaborating with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across GS and IT to formulate in-depth understanding of issues and gather critiques of relevant content.
  • Ability to quickly distill complex technical issues into clear communications tailored across the organization, including executive management, software developers, IT administrators, internal customers, end users and external parties.
  • Ability to think strategically while facilitating interactive action plans using an iterative approach with meticulous version control.
  • Ability to focus on both the present and the future, while creating and maintaining departmental processes, taxonomies, standards, and style guides that reduce training and rework costs.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines for multiple projects running in parallel.
  • Suggesting best practices and optimizations throughout content generation projects.
  • Collaborating with SMEs to develop innovative approaches for crafting more precise and engaging content for the company.
  • Managing sophisticated information and multiple projects within content specifications and budget restrictions.
  • Using company brand voice and messaging for written pieces to reinforce the company culture
  • Ability to QA multiple content for errors, accuracy and tone.
  • Creating technical documents that convey accurate messaging for the different GS projects, while implementing feedback, and changes as required to meet timeline.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in technical writing with strong relevant work experience in governance reporting (Exco, board, oversight), IT/cyber security field and/or risk management.
  • Experience in regulatory communications, project management and development environments.
  • Experience in highly regulated environments, especially in the financial services industry is preferred.
  • Experience in developing different content to support successful projects including but not limited to Executive Communications (e.g., papers, PowerPoint, etc), Security Documentation, Policies, Plans and Standards, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and negotiation skills, and ability to structure thoughts into clear messages and content.
  • Prior experience in working with business, technical and executive profiles with the ability to adapt messages across different types of audience (business, technical…).
  • Autonomous, accountable and result-driven with ability to quickly adapt and respond to change.
  • Personal drive, passion and enthusiasm to both understand and successfully navigate a company undergoing meaningful transformation in technology.
  • Exceptional communication skills, especially in a global environment is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with systems development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Attention to detail.
  • Fluency in English (both written and verbal).
  • Healthy analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Experience with both print and digital media formats.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and meet quality standards.
