Civil Drainage Engineer – USA / Virtual Based Remote
Opportunity :

Parsons is now hiring a Civil Drainage Engineer for design-build and design-bid-build projects located around the USA to support various state and Federal road and highway projects . You will have the opportunity to support drainage and culvert systems design for major road and highway projects primarily in the US East Region.
This role can be based anywhere in the USA, and allows for a remote based work situation , or the ability to work from a local Parsons office on a hybrid basis , if desired. This position can also be hired at a more experienced Senior Engineer level as well.

In this role: you will be engaged in engineering drainage and irrigation designs, hydraulic systems modeling, and drainage calculations. You will review construction details, as well as erosion control drawings. Perform quantity calculations and produce/check engineering analytical data and related information to assure the design and any technical reports are accurate. Deliver critical design components regarding project scope, and experience supporting any state DOT projects is essential.
Responsibilities :
- Independently develops and/or supervises the creation of engineering products that meet customer quality requirements. This includes defining the problem, establishing the work scope, preparing the budget and schedule, planning the work, providing technical direction, and reporting the work status.
- Will perform drainage and culvert systems design for various State DOT road and highway projects around the USA.
- Typical products may include detailed calculations, drawings, procurement documents, design and installation packages, proposal evaluations, technical reports, and detailed analyses.
- Provides support for other engineering activities as required. May supervise one or more subordinates and provide input regarding performance.
- May be assigned to a project or organizational team, or as a lead engineer for a specific discipline on a small to intermediate-size project.
- Provides input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.
Qualifications:
- 4-year degree in Civil Engineering (or a related field) is required.
- 3 years or more of related work experience with road & highway drainage design , preferably with state DOT projects
- EIT is required, and a PE from any US State is desirable, but not required
- Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering is required. Experience with Microstation and/or Autocad Civil 3D is essential
- Experience supporting any state DOT projects is preferred, but experience with drainage systems design for land development projects is considered . Experience obtaining canal and storm water permits is a plus
