We are looking for the Global and Regional Head of Inland Marine to lead, develop and execute the regional Inland Marine strategy while proactively supporting the development of the global strategy.

The Impact You Will Have
Reporting to the Global Head of Marine, this position will take prime responsibility for leading, developing and executing the Inland Marine strategy. In addition, the Global and Regional Head of Inland Marine will:
- Steer and control line of business underwriting portfolio globally, to ensure achievement of financial targets.
- Develop and implement consistent underwriting approach globally.
- Lead and manage the regional underwriting team, including direct reports and matrix management of functional reports.
Some of your specific responsibilities could include:
- Underwriting Strategy - Develop, define and execute local strategy for Inland Marine to drive profitable growth and a leading market position.
- Support the development of global Underwriting Inland Marine strategy, in line with AzC CUO
- Support the development of cross Inland Marine regional strategy, in line with R&M and Regional CEO
- Identify market opportunities, including potential markets, target segments and clients, in liaison with R&M and OEs
- Steering and Controlling - Steer and control regional Inland Marine portfolio to drive achievement of financial targets (e. g. full combined ratio)
- Drive underwriting planning process and monitor adherence to plan.
- Global Underwriting Approach - Drive and proactively monitor a consistent and coherent global underwriting governance framework.
- Ensure underwriting consistency and underwriting discipline and adherence to all corporate guidelines and authority levels, including Rules and Principles, Underwriting Authorities, corporate governance rules, and local regulatory framework.
- Referral / case Underwriting of key clients as required.
- Product Development - Proactively drive development and implementation of new and modified products.
- Maximize efficiencies of product range
- Proactively support development and implementation of pricing tools
- Technical skills: Portfolio Management, Pricing, Contract drafting and interpretation, and strategic risk and market management.
- Market and relationship management - Proactively support acquisition of new business and retention of existing business (including client and broker negotiations where necessary)
- Positively represent AzC internally within the Allianz Group, and externally to the market.
- Proactively drive involvement of functional areas in Underwriting process, including e. g. MMC, ARC, Claims, Operations
What You’ll Bring to the Role –
We'd like to find someone with a minimum 11 years’ proven track record in Inland Marine Underwriting management. Experience of leading and of remotely managing and developing regional teams across numerous locations, including direct reports and complex matrix environments. Experience of leading change in various business scenarios, including restructuring, integration and mature growth markets. In addition, you will bring:
- Master’s Degree
- Completion of professional insurance qualification (e.g., CII)
- Strategic Plan
