Our Opportunity
North American Lighting (NAL) is looking for a Senior Production Control Planner to join our team. The ideal candidate will plan, organize, and execute production schedules for assigned product lines to achieve maximum customer satisfaction levels and “on-time” shipments.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Your Priorities
- Ensures consistent application of good fundamental production control concepts and practices to support the facility’s total manufacturing process.
- Develops and maintains master schedules and order releases for assigned product lines in order to support customer requirements (including the response to changes in customer requirements).
- Monitors status of purchase parts and communicates any changes to purchasing department.
- Provides shipping dates for short lead orders based on material availability and production capacity.
- Coordinates and participates in cycle counts and reconciliations to ensure inventory accuracy, monitors accuracy of inventory records, and initiates required corrective actions.
- Participates in and/or leads departmental projects and activities, including physical inventory activities, Kanban/JIT training, and Kaizen team activities.
Requirements
Your Background
High School Diploma or GED, plus 5 years of experience in a Production Control/Planning role with increased roles and responsibilities.
APICS certification, Experience in a JIT and Kanban manufacturing environment, and Access and Crystal Reports skills are preferred.
