The SOF Production Safety – Temporary role supports student film and media productions by guiding safe, compliant, and well-organized production practices. This position advises students on production logistics, safety requirements, and risk management while coordinating with campus partners to ensure institutional compliance. The role also provides administrative and operational support for School of Film productions and initiatives. Approximately 20–25 hours per week. Primarily in person; limited remote work may be available as appropriate.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Guide students through production logistics, including location safety forms, permits, insurance, and contracts.
Advise students on location scouting, logistical planning, safety requirements, and risk assessment for productions.
Liaise with campus departments such as Economic Development Corporation (EDC), Risk Management, Student Accessibility Services, and Student Engagement to address safety, accessibility, or accommodation needs.
Review production materials and support safety audits to assess feasibility and compliance; escalate complex or high-risk cases as needed.
Provide administrative, production, and communications support for SOF events, productions, and initiatives.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean of the School of Film.
QUALIFICATIONS – Qualifications are deemed required or preferred and represent what is needed to effectively perform job.
Experience with film, media, event, or production operations, including safety or logistics coordination required.
Working knowledge of production safety principles, risk assessment, and compliance practices required.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines required.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff required.
Experience in an academic or student-focused environment preferred.
Familiarity with location permitting, insurance requirements, and production-related contracts preferred.
Background in film, media production, event management, or risk management preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT – Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.
This is a temporary, part-time position averaging 20–25 hours per week.
Work is primarily conducted in person, with the possibility of limited remote work based on operational needs and scheduling.

The hourly rate for this role is $15 an hour.
