The Safety & Operations Assurance Specialist Staff provides assurance with the implementation of our management systems and develops scope, schedule and budget. This role leads assessments and provides program oversight sought to provide assurance regarding our compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to the energy industry and compliance with Williams Integrated Management System (WIMS). These responsibilities, in addition to the associated day-to-day oversight and decision making, have a direct impact on the effectiveness and efficiency of the team.

Responsibilities/Expectations:
- Leads audits and assessments, ensuring consistency across Process Safety Management/Risk Management Plans, Safety Culture/Tier 2/Tier 3 Assessments, Compliance Assessments, and Insurance Assessments
- Coordinates with third-party consultants in a lead capacity on completion of various assessments and audits, implementing proper oversight to complete projects timely, accurately, and within budget
- Reviews assigned subject areas, processes, and/or documentation to interpret and assess compliance with applicable internal and/or external requirements
- Documents, compiles, and communicates assessment findings to Safety Assurance and our leadership
- Advises others of assessment status as well as any execution changes that occur
- Prepares and presents assessment reporting materials to all levels of leadership
- Other duties as assigned
Education/Years of Experience:
- Required: Bachelor's degree; a minimum of seven (7) years experience in any of the following fields at a professional level: Safety and Health, Field Operations, Engineering, Technical Services, Process Safety, Pipeline Safety, or EHS Auditing
- Preferred: Safety, Engineering, or EHS Auditing certification; a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in any of the above fields at a Senior or Staff level
Other Requirements:
- Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skills
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Demonstrates ability to balance multiple assignments with minimal direction and with a focus on customer and relationship development
- Familiar with applicable regulatory agencies such as Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Environmental Protection Agency, Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement, Department of Transportation, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, Pipeline & Hazardous Materials Safety Administration
- Preferred: Experience in an operational or safety role in the oil and gas industry
- Preferred: Experience managing safety and auditing programs
