Network Operations Center Engineer I

Salary Range:  $91,536.00 (Min.) - $121,286.00 (Mid.) - $136,000.00 (Max.)

Job Summary

The Network Operations Center Engineer (NOC) I will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the stability and performance of our network & application infrastructure. The NOC I Engineer will work closely with senior team members to troubleshoot and resolve basic network and other infrastructure issues, ensuring the seamless operation of our systems.

Duties

Monitoring:

Monitor network and system performance using established tools to identify and report on issues.

Escalate incidents to senior team members and other support groups for resolution.

 

Troubleshooting:

Assist in troubleshooting and resolving basic network and system problems.

Follow established procedures for incident resolution.

 

Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of network/system incidents and resolutions.

Contribute to the development of documentation for standard operating procedures.

 

Collaboration:

Work collaboratively with team members to address network and system related challenges.

Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions to enhance skills.

 

Basic Configurations:

Execute basic configurations and changes under the guidance of senior team members.

Learn and apply best practices in network administration.

 

Perform other duties as assigned.

Education Required

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Related FieldIn lieu of degree, equivalent education and/or experience may be considered.

Experience

Required:

Minimum of 4 years of experience with Windows client operating systems, as well as Office suite.

Minimum of 4 years of experience with Active Directory or other LDAP management of users and computers.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in a complex computing environment including Call-Center or Help-Desk or NOC experience.

Experience with Application performance monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, or similar

Experience with monitoring tools and patch management systems.

Skills

Required:

Familiarity with firewalls, switches, and networking concepts.

Familiarity with various server operating systems and technologies like Windows, Linux, SQL, Oracle, Java, .Net, Welogic, DHCP, DNS, WINS, TCP / IP networking.

Basic network troubleshooting skills in LAN, WAN, WLAN environments, VDI vCenter / vSphere, ESXi, Active Directory, Exchange, Office 365 (O365), VMware or Citrix  and related support tools.

 Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to effectively document processes.

Familiarity with ITSM process and standards, and Business impacts of incidents.
