Project Overview:

Join us as we make history at the Hanford Vit Plant, known as the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant. We are designing and building a one-of-a-kind facility that will turn radioactive and chemical waste left over from World War II and Cold War plutonium production into a form safe for disposal. Job Summary: 

In this role you will be responsible for ensuring that utility and process systems are designed to required codes and standards and established design criteria. You will assist with delivering challenging design basis documents such as calculations, drawings, and reports, as well as developing required procurement documents such as specifications and material requisitions that will be used in the equipment procurement process. Your leadership will look to you to provide guidance to junior engineers and develop innovative solutions to technical challenges while still ensuring that the unique and complex requirements of the task are met. Additionally, you will provide input to help track the progress of deliverables to ensure that they meet schedule requirements. 

 

This position is a full-time role located in the Richland, Washington project office, and works a 9/80 schedule, offering every other Friday off.#LI-TN1

 

Major Responsibilities:

• Designing the fluid and gas systems in the WTP process facilities.
• Responsible for assisting with discipline work process execution in a technically adequate manner and in accordance with company, contract, and industry codes and standards.
• Preparing Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), technical reports, studies, design documentation, calculations using engineering software, and specifications for complex mechanical equipment for the waste treatment process and supporting systems.
• Interfacing and coordinating with other engineering disciplines and the client in the development of the design.
• Mentoring junior engineers.
• Coordinate closely with other technical disciplines in planning and executing work as an integrated team.
