Job Summary: Develops and implements industry aligned practices for thrift store program operations and strategic developments. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned personnel using both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment.

Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
• Master's Degree: Preferred • Five years' technical experience: Preferred
• Three years' retail management experience: Preferred
• Two years' customer service experience: Preferred
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
• Ability to serve patrons in a professional, welcoming and efficient manner: Required

Essential Functions:
• Develops written procedures for store operations, including opening and closing the store; procedures for staff and volunteers, handling of cash and other relevant procedures as needed. Strengthens and supports policies for donated, rotated and disposal of items. Administers merchandise standards and processes, including sorting, tagging, displaying and disposing of donated items. Manages supply inventory and completes purchase orders, as necessary.
• Creates fiscal policies for budget management and controls petty cash expenditures. Identifies training resources for staff through electronic publications, webinars and periodic offsite resources to increase knowledge of resale, thrift, consignment and retail trends.
• Establishes communication networks for staff and volunteers, to remain consistent with policies and procedures regarding item and volunteer solicitation. Collaborates with directors to develop timely and accurate reporting systems for required and assigned paperwork.
• Creates training handbooks for staff and volunteers, in adherence with policies and procedures. Helps create job descriptions, performance evaluations and time records for staff and volunteers.
• Provides projections and recommendations to promote sales and retain customers. Provides store display designs for merchandise, to enhance the store appearance. • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
