Department Summary:
We are the technical infrastructure services department. We manage all infrastructure on premise on which all of our business systems run. This includes management and support of network, hardware, servers, storage and databases within our datacenter. We also have established a secured framework on AWS Cloud where we have many of our systems migrated and new systems being implemented. This department is responsible for everything related to Data Platforms and databases on premise and on AWS Cloud.
Position Summary:
The intern position will focus on data platforms and databases framework, management of databases on AWS Cloud. Specific skills we are looking for is knowledge and experience scripting/coding to manage, create, alter databases in AWS cloud. Since we will have 100s of databases hosted on AWS Cloud, we will need to code/script all tasks associated with management and administration of databases. Experience managing different flavors of databases such as Postgres, MySQL, etc. on AWS Cloud is required.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work closely within the data platforms team focusing on database services on AWS cloud.
- Database infrastructure based scripting/coding to manage databases and perform all tasks associated with database creation, alteration, etc.
- Document the scripting and associated work performed.
- It is work in progress by the team as we establish more databases on AWS cloud. The intern is expected to use the necessary AWS based tools to configure, administer databases and look at scripting all functions related to database administration
Education Requirements:
The Ideal candidate will be a rising junior or senior majoring in Computer Science.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience/knowledge doing assignments or working on projects focusing database setup, management on AWS Cloud services.
- Scripting/coding different functions for database management, creation, alterations, data inserts, updates, etc.

Position Summary
*This position will be primarily based in the Washington D.C. (or applicable) office. ACS employees work a hybrid work schedule, consisting of working onsite, three days per week. ACS employees are in the office on Tuesday and Wednesday with the third in-office day scheduled in consultation with the manager. Schedule flexibility may be required for this role to support in-office activities. While always welcome to work in the office, employees may work the other two days of the week from a location of their choice.
