The Returns Supervisor is responsible for leading a team that processes returns from our retailers and manages the returned inventory. The primary objective is to complete the end-to-end processing of returns as efficiently as possible, minimizing the cost per unit returned while maintaining accuracy and achieving cycle time targets. The returns process spans from receipt of returns through inventory disposition, including refurbishing inventory for resale, and internal department transfers. It is the responsibility of the Returns Supervisor to motivate and engage the team to continuously improve and achieve key performance metrics. The Returns Supervisor will analyze returns data and key performance metrics, such as units processed per hour, to identify process improvements and implement solutions to achieve performance targets and support customer satisfaction.
• Lead a team of returns specialists (assistants), ensuring that key performance metrics are achieved
• Provide coaching and guidance to ensure that team stays engaged and motivated to achieve performance metric objectives
• Monitor daily workflow and distribute work efficiently
• Cultivate a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and accountability for results
• Ensure that returns flow into and through the system properly
• Conduct detailed analysis around returns trends, team performance, process flows, etc to identify root causes of service failures and opportunities for continuous improvement
• Lead projects to drive continuous improvement in efficiency and key performance metrics such as units processed per hour, end-to-end cycle time, and cost per unit
• Recruit, train, coach, and discipline employees
• Create and maintain standard operating procedures (both internally and globally)
• Coordinate and administer the quarterly performance management process for the team
• Initiate, coordinate, and enforce operational and personnel policies and procedures
• Lead quarterly warehouse and systems closures and clean-ups
• Correspond closely with global team ensuring proper execution of departmental standard operating procedures internally and in the field
• Perform other duties as assigned
*Bachelor’s degree preferred, but combination of education and experience is considered as well
Business Management//Supply Chain/Leadership/Or related field
3-5 years of equivalent combination of experience and education accepted
• Understanding of warehousing, inventory of returns/stock control and returns process management, requirements and dynamics
• Inventory Control Experience preferred
• PKMS or similar WMS software
Computer Skillls:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
