Summary
The Lead VIP Interiors Mechanic works under minimal supervision to safely perform aircraft removals, installation, and/or fabrication of aircraft interiors (which may include galleys, closets, lavatories, side ledges, bulkheads, doors, seats, and panels).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Leads the aircraft removals, installation, and/or fabrication of aircraft interiors, maintenance, preventative maintenance, alteration of, or approve and return to service of any aircraft, or part thereof, only for which that Lead is rated and has satisfactorily performed the work concerned at an earlier date.
- Oversees and co-signs for uncertified mechanics in accordance with the GTI RSM procedures.
- Facilitates On-the-Job Training (OJT) to provide learning opportunities through work assignment and mentoring.
- Ensures all tasks are promptly completed in compliance with federal regulations, customer guidelines and company policies.
- Uses technical data to order parts and ensure material is effective for aircraft being installed on.
- Recognizes unsafe conditions and takes immediate corrective action.
- Conducts crew meetings to ensure communication regarding work, safety, and quality.
- Communicates effectively with other personnel at all levels by keeping co-workers and leadership apprised of work progress and difficulties as they arise.
- Helps with general clean-up of work area.
- Responsible for accurately clocking to jobs.
- Regular and prompt attendance.
- Effective and appropriate conduct with co-workers.

Summary of Education, Experience & Certification
High School education or equivalent. Minimum of three (3) years’ recent applicable installation, fabrication, or related experience. Applicable Repairman, Airframe, or Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification required. Experience in aerospace industry preferred.
Employees working on programs subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations must qualify as a US Person which is defined as a US Citizen, a Permanent Resident who does not work for a foreign company/foreign government/foreign governmental agency or organization, or a political asylee for legal compliance purposes.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to communicate in English (read, write, and verbally communicate).
- Mathematical knowledge and ability to apply towards problem solving.
