About the role

The Network Engineer is responsible for supporting, and collaborating with internal team members, and vendors on all aspects of network, and telephony infrastructure. This includes maintaining essential systems such as firewalls, routers, switches, wireless access points (WAPs), network access control (NAC), load balancers, and intrusion detection systems (IDS). The role involves configuring, monitoring, and maintaining these systems to ensure their optimal performance. The Network Engineer participates in planning meetings, assists employees with network-related issues, and provides expertise to maintain seamless service across all Paradies locations. A key focus of this role is to ensure the integrity, security, and high availability of network infrastructure, maximizing performance for the Paradies Lagardère Support Center staff, field personnel, clients, partners, customers, and suppliers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in deploying and maintaining all network components across the US and Canada, with occasional overnight travel required.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures for identifying, documenting, distributing, and resolving network issues under the guidance of the lead network engineer.
  • Assist in implementing and adhering to enterprise standards, practices, and policies for network and telephony infrastructure.
  • Identify and suggest new technology solutions to improve corporate operations and assess potential upgrades to existing systems to enhance end-user experience.
  • Collaboratively work with the other IT teams to ensure the Information Security standards in place are met/exceeded with respect to our data, applications, and infrastructure environment.
  • Contribute to the success of assigned network-related projects within the company.
  • Set up, configure, deploy, and support network infrastructure at Paradies Lagardère Support Center (PLSC) and field locations.
  • Provide remote/onsite support to business areas and users, collaborating with retail and dining teams to document existing network setups.
  • Write, maintain, and review technical and project documentation as required.
  • Coordinate the ordering, shipping, staging, setup, updating, and maintenance of network equipment.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to maintain network stability and support business requirements.
  • Resolve assigned incident tickets, ensuring fixes are documented for future reference.
  • Demonstrate creativity in problem-solving and network solutions as expected within the role.
  • Participate in managing network-related projects with a focus on engineering, operations, and security.
  • Work with vendors as needed to meet quality and SLA standards.
  • Use various hand and crimping tools, working both independently and collaboratively on daily tasks and projects.
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call support on a rotating basis to address network-related issues.
  • Provide support for a range of end-user inquiries as required.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Required networking experience: Proficiency in wired and wireless networking, cybersecurity, firewalls, switches, access points, Network Access Control (NAC), DNS, DHCP, and related networking protocols. Familiarity with Fortinet solutions and devices is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with networking, permissions, security, and telephony technologies.
  • Networking equipment: At least 3 years of experience working with systems like firewalls, routers, load balancers, and switches.
  • SD-WAN experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience with SD-WAN, preferably Fortinet.
  • Technical knowledge: Solid understanding of network infrastructure, terminologies, and up-to-date knowledge of secure connectivity practices.
  • Microsoft network practices: Knowledgeable in best practices for managing and supporting a distributed Microsoft network environment.
  • Cloud environment: Experience dealing with network engineering, and administration in connected Cloud environments as well as hybrid environments.
  • Information Security: Staying abreast of Information Security best practices with respect to Network configuration, engineering, and administration.
  • Communication skills: Strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
