Position Overview

Deaconess Health System is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Manager of Accounting to lead financial accounting, reporting, and treasury operations for all centralized Deaconess corporations. This role plays a key part in financial planning, budgeting, and regulatory reporting, and supports executive leadership in delivering sound financial stewardship aligned with our mission of compassionate care.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the preparation and analysis of financial statements for all centralized Deaconess entities.

• Coordinate internal and external financial reporting and review processes.

• Oversee the preparation and submission of tax filings and regulatory reports.

• Lead the development of capital proformas and feasibility studies to evaluate financial impact of strategic initiatives.

• Prepare and update strategic financial plans for the Health System.

• Support the Director in setting department goals, training finance personnel, and maintaining performance standards.

• Participate on committees requiring financial expertise and provide decision support.

• Assist with the administration of financial systems and operational planning for accounting and management reporting.

• Support capital financing efforts and long-term financial planning.

• Lead or assist with special financial and management projects to support Boards, executives, and departmental leadership.

• Provide oversight for Accounts Payable and Payroll teams.

• Assist in coordinating and administering the annual budget process.

• Uphold the organization’s Standards of Employee Conduct.

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting — Required

• Master’s degree (MBA or related) — Preferred

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant finance or accounting experience — Required

• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Certifications:

• CPA certification — Preferred
