Boeing Defense Space and Security (BDS) is currently looking for a Wire Harness Mechanical Design & Installation Engineer (Associate, Mid-level, Lead) to join their team in El Segundo, CA.
Boeing Space Missions Systems designs and builds advanced space and communications systems for military, commercial and scientific uses, including advanced digital payload, all-electric propulsion and 3D manufacturing capabilities for spacecraft that can operate in the geosynchronous, medium-Earth orbit or low-Earth orbital planes.
Boeing offers end-to-end intelligence services and has deep expertise in large-scale systems integration; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems; and navigation and communication systems. Other key capabilities include in-space vehicle design and engineering, satellite network operations, satellite mission assurance, satellite and space-vehicle ground-systems design and space electronics (ASICS)
design.
The world's first geosynchronous communications satellite, Syncom II, was built by Boeing and launched in 1963. Since Syncom, the company has delivered satellites to more than 50 customers in more than 20 countries. These systems are designed and built in the world’s largest satellite manufacturing factory in El Segundo, California

Position Responsibilities:
- Provide shipside engineering support for satellite wire harness installations
- Provides engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests)
- Documents processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities
- Analyzes functional and physical input to assure development of complete integrated design
- Develops and maintains electrical product detail, assembly and installation designs (e.g., equipment racks, power panels, cable routing and geometry, antennas)
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires the ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. TS clearance Post Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- 1+ years’ experience in Wire harness fabrication, repair, test, and installation including instrumentation and heaters
- 1+ years experience reading and understanding engineering drawings and schematics
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):
- 5+ or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 9+ or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Typical Education & Experience:
Associate (Level 2):
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Experienced (Level 3):
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typicall
