Job Description
Career Services Manager – HR/Strategy/Entrepreneurship
This role serves as a strategic partner in advancing career outcomes for undergraduate students within the Marriott School of Business. The Manager, Business Career Development – HR/Strategy/Entrepreneurship acts as the primary liaison among students, faculty, recruiters, alumni, and industry leaders. Providing leadership for career preparation, internship and full-time placement, and employer engagement efforts.
This position supports approximately 320 undergraduate students and plays a key role in advancing student career outcomes, enhancing employer engagement, and aligning career development initiatives with the Marriott School’s Vision, Mission, and Values. This is a full-time exempt position.
What you’ll do in this position:
Lead career development, advising, and placement efforts for approximately 320 undergraduate students in Human Resources, Strategy, and Entrepreneurship, supporting internship and full-time employment outcomes.
Provide individualized and group-based career coaching, including career assessments, resume and LinkedIn reviews, interview preparation, job search strategy, and job offer evaluation.
Design, deliver, and continuously improve career development curriculum and instructional materials for required undergraduate courses, incorporating student outcomes, industry trends, and best practices.
Serve as the primary coordinator and point of contact for all recruitment activities within the HR, Strategy, and Entrepreneurship programs, including employer engagement and on-campus recruiting.
Track, analyze, and report monthly internship and full-time placement data, providing insights and recommendations to faculty and departmental leadership.
Develop, strengthen, and manage strategic relationships with recruiters, senior executives, alumni, and industry partners to expand and diversify employment opportunities for students.
Represent the Marriott School of Business to external stakeholders by hosting recruiters, attending career fairs, facilitating employer visits, and participating in regional and corporate engagement efforts.
Provide leadership and administrative oversight for student clubs, advisory boards, case competitions, conferences, and other career-related initiatives.
Manage discretionary career development funds, supervise student employees, and exercise independent judgment in advising students, supporting programs, and advancing departmental objectives.
What qualifies you for this role:
Required
A firm commitment to the mission of BYU
Bachelor’s degree in business, HR, strategy or related field
10+ years professional experience in HR, corporate strategy, business development or general management
Experience in collaborating across organizations to achieve stated objectives
Experience with leading, developing, mentoring, evaluating and hiring professionals
Ability to work well with BYU students
Preferred
Master’s degree in business or related field
15+ years in a Fortune 500 setting
