Manufacturing Team Member III (2nd Shift)

Job Description:

Position Summary: The Manufacturing Team Member III (2nd Shift) will be responsible for performing tasks including operating tools and machinery to produce dental consumables, used to restore teeth in a highly regulated environment. 

This role will be highly focused on performing in-process testing utilizing lab equipment.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday from 12:00 pm – 8:30 pm. Must be able to work overtime.

This position will be based in Pomona, CA location in the near future, and will work from our Orange, CA location in the interim.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Primarily unassisted, conducts in-process testing (e.g., color, viscosity) utilizing lab equipment in compliance with testing procedures and completes all required documentation.
• Analyzes test results and troubleshoots in compliance with quality policies and procedures.
• Collaborates with process engineering and quality to refine testing protocols.
• Records and maintains test records via business computer systems.
• Follows work instructions including setting up equipment, weighing material, loading mixing equipment, monitoring process, and completing all required documentation per quality policies and procedures. 
• Performs quality checks throughout the production process to avoid rework and scrapping of product and material.  
• Troubleshoots complex problems to ensure product specifications are met in compliance with quality standards.  
• Immediately reports productivity and quality concerns to the appropriate personnel. 
• Applies expertise when executing root cause investigations and implements countermeasures to counteract findings. 
• Reports damaged material, tooling, and/or machinery to the appropriate personnel for prompt repair or replacement. 
• Supports cross-training efforts by training other team members and provides feedback to production leadership.
• Adheres to all company policies and procedures including safety and quality. 
• Reads, comprehends, and complies with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Manufacturing Instructions (MIs).
• Participates in continuous improvement activities through the Envista Business System (EBS) including Kaizens, 5S events, Standard Work workshops, Kanban, and Kamishibai.

Education and Experience:       

• High school diploma or equivalent required or minimum of 1.5 years of department experience required.
• Minimum of 1.5 years of relevant work experience required.
• Experience performing testing in a chemical manufacturing environment highly preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English required.
• Ability to read and interpret written instructions in English required.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Expertise in performing math calculations including measurement adjustments required.
• Proficient in performing multiple manufacturing processes required.
• Expertise with good documentation practices and high accuracy in manufacturing documentation required.
• Experience in supporting root cause investigations required.
