The following position is to join our RTX Corporate, Enterprise Services, Research Center or BBN team: 

RTX ES Controllership is seeking a motivated and experienced individual to join the ES Government Accounting Team. This position will be responsible for supporting ES functional management, Corporate, and the RTX Businesses as it relates to compliance with Government contracting requirements and associated audits. This position provides an excellent opportunity for collaborating across RTX functions and programs, as the organization is involved in matters that drive policies, establish guidelines, and shape the costing structure of the business.


What You Will do:

  • Provide consultation to ES team leads/process owners regarding unallowable costs and other regulatory compliance requirements as defined in the FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation) and CAS (Cost Accounting Standards)
  • Perform assessments of the design, adequacy, and effectiveness of the ES Government Accounting control environment and evaluate compliance with government regulations and company policies
  • Support various audits performed by Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA)/Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA), Internal Audit, and external auditors by regularly interfacing with the audit teams and overseeing responses to their inquiries and audit reports
  • Coordinate across the company to align FAR/CAS interpretations, identify process improvements and best practices, and support Corporate and Business initiatives
  • Review revisions to the ESWIP and Corporate Cost Accounting Standards Board (CASB) Disclosure Statements, evaluating the types of changes being submitted and any resulting cost impact
  • Support the RTX expat deployment lifecycle process and policy as it relates to government accounting compliance
  • Manage a small team of Government Accountants, ensuring execution of business deliverables and promoting team member development

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • A University Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field and minimum 10 years relevant experience (minimum 7 years of experience if an Advanced Degree in a related field)
  • At least 5 years’ experience performing financial or operational audits and financial analysis to include those governed by FAR, CAS, and CASB Disclosure Statements
  • At least 2 years’ experience analyzing and responding to Government audit reports and requests for information (RFIs) related to FAR Parts 30 and 31, CAS, CASB Disclosure Statements, and/or Incurred Cost Proposals/Submissions
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the financial systems due to Government contractual requirements

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (primarily Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Self-motivated with an ability to work independently to ensure overall objectives and goals of the organization are achieved
  • Desire to work in a highly collaborative environment
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal) and comfortability communicating with various levels of leadership
  • Understanding of complex business data, processes, rate modeling, and/or cost accounting structures
  • CORE Apprentice Certification, Six Sigma Specialist Certification, or experience leading process improvement activities
  • Background or experience in defense accounting or a finance d
