Job Summary
The System Executive Chef is responsible for driving culinary excellence across all operational areas, ensuring efficient, safe, and high-quality food production. This role involves menu development, inventory management, purchasing, cost control, and staff development to uphold superior culinary standards. This role is ideal for a visionary leader who thrives on innovation, efficiency, and delivering high-quality dining experiences
Key Responsibilities:
- Culinary Excellence: Establish and maintain high culinary standards for retail, board meals, dining, and catering operations.
- Team Leadership & Development: Train, mentor, and inspire the local culinary team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
- Strategic Innovation: Lead initiatives in Corporate Social Responsibility, seasonal menu planning, and health & wellness trends while enhancing campus dining experiences.
- Operational Analysis & Improvement: Monitor performance metrics, trends, and operational efficiencies, implementing strategic improvements to drive culinary success.
- Customer Engagement: Demonstrate a thorough understanding of daily menu items, effectively communicating offerings to customers and ensuring satisfaction.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Culinary degree preferred, ServSafe® Certification required
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Services Technology, Management, or a related field preferred
Experience:
- 3–5 years of progressive culinary or kitchen management experience (varies based on formal education/training)
- Expertise in catering event planning and execution from a culinary perspective
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership abilities with a passion for working with an industry-leading team
- Comprehensive knowledge of culinary and catering trends, including quality control, production efficiency, sanitation, and food cost management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, and internet-based tools
- Effective communicator across multiple levels, including management, staff, and customers
