Accounting Manager

Position Overview

• Department: General Finance
• Schedule: M-F, 8 am - 5pm
• Work Location: Ridge Park Place, Birmingham, AL or remote eligible

What You Will Do

Manages financial accounting and reporting for designated entities. Acts as a strategic business partner by providing financial expertise and guidance to support organizational goals.

 

• Manages day-to-day operations including the preparation and review of journal entries, accountreconciliations, accruals, business case input, and other accounting activities.
• Develops and manages work plans and financial models to achieve operational goals, supportfunding strategies, and guide financial decision-making across designated departments or units.
• Prepares and reviews monthly financial reporting and analysis. Identifies key trends, risks, andopportunities, providing actionable insights to stakeholders.
• Contributes to financial reporting and technical accounting transactions for entities including writing or reviewing the writing of technical acccounting position papers.
• Identifies and implements enhancements to accounting processes and financial systems to increase efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
• Provides leadership and training for accounting team members. Fosters a collaborative workenvironment that supports professional development and continuous learning.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What You Will Need

Licensure: 

Accountant licensure required relevant to state in which work is performed preferred

 

Education: 

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and a minimum of four (4) years of related experience required.
• Equivalent combination of education and professional experience may be considered in lieu of education requirement.
• Two (2) years of leadership experience preferred.
