Supply Chain is a customer-focused Center of Excellence providing industry-leading service while delivering differential value to the business, today and into the future.  We separate our Supply Chain functions into several areas; these include logistics, customer fulfillment, services, trade compliance, and support for business processes and systems. 

As a member of our dynamic Supply Chain team, you will play a critical role in helping us supply our products to a global customer base. In this role, you will act as the subject matter expert (SME) and first-line resource for Level I and Level II Logistics Operations Specialists. In addition, you will be responsible for performing accurate and timely delivery planning tasks to meet customer requirements. During a typical day, you will  leverage your expertise to lead, mentor and support other team members while completing/overseeing key logistics functions such as goods receipt/issue of orders, coordinating transportation availability, performing logistics inventory management, and/or coordinating the reconciliation of process exceptions.  

This position reports to the Logistics Operations Specialist Supervisor and is located at our North American Headquarters in The Galleria, Houston. The position offers a competitive base salary, bonus, 401K matching, generous benefits package, pension plan, parking subsidy and employee discounts.

A Day in the Life

•    Provide expert guidance to Level I and II Logistics Operations Specialists to resolve delivery planning or business related problems. 
•    Manage the delivery planning process for intercompany and customer shipments for complex sites and/or multiple modes of transportation, including rail, bulk/tank truck, barge, or pipeline.
•    Act as the main point of contact for all delivery-related issues. Operate with a high degree of knowledge regarding transportation, manufacturing, and products. Able to act confidently to ensure business needs are met accurately and on time.
•    Confidently deliver and facilitate communication across customer service, manufacturing operations, and land transportation to provide answers to inquiries regarding equipment availability and transportation requirements. Proactively provide solutions to time-sensitive needs in a composed manner.
•    Communicate shipping schedules and details to plant/storage location personnel and business management as needed.
•    Proactively complete delivery planning tasks, execute accurate and timely system transactions of product movements.
•    Demonstrate advanced knowledge of the Enterprise system (SAP), extended system tools, and drive stakeholders/vendors and team members toward full utilization of these tools.
•    Champion and lead process improvements with a solution-oriented and Lean mindset. Identify existing gaps and/or issues; Lead and drive change implementation for extended system improvements or other customer fulfillment projects.
•    Act as a subject matter expert provide routine coverage for Level I, Level II and Senior PLO desks
•    Lead Quarterly in person Manufacturing KPI review meetings with stakeholders 
•    Model LyondellBasell core competencies with internal and external customers.
•    Responsibilities will require periodic on-call support of business segment outside
of regular business hours.

You Bring This Value

Minimum Qualifications
•    The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years’ relevant, industry-related experience.
•    Able to work independently in SAP.
•    A Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred. Will consider candidates with a High School Diploma that have at least 8 years’ relevant experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
•    Demonstrated strong problem solving abilities. 
•    Knowledge and expertise in transportation tracking systems and understanding of the manufacturing/product process and multiple manufacturing sites. 
•    Demonstratable change management and/or project leadership experience. <
