We are looking for you to join our team as a Staff Embedded Software Engineer based out of Linthicum, MD.

What you’ll get to do:

As the lead developer of radars, COMMS, and SIGINT for some of the most advanced systems in the U.S. arsenal, Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is a world leader in advanced sensor systems and design. These include airborne RADARs for fighter jets & UAVs including F-22, F-35, F-16, Global Hawk (Triton), and Gray Eagle (STARLite), airborne surveillance RADARs for AWACS and E-7 (MESA), and ground and maritime RADARs including G/ATOR and SEWIP.  As the IPT lead you will oversee engineers developing software systems, Radar modes, performing hands-on integration and testing of sophisticated systems, including both hardware and software components in development and production environments; Synthesize internal and external customer needs and requirements into software designs that acknowledge technical and schedule constraints; Participate in the development and execution of all software development life cycle phases; participate in weekly program leadership meetings, Customer VTCs, TIMs and design reviews.  Coordinate cross-functional software integration activities that may include environmental, reliability and the occasional flight test; Review and evaluate test requirements to ensure completeness of software test program; Oversee analysis of test results and prepares comprehensive reports; Support, collaborate and interact with multi-disciplinary teams.  As the IPT of several Agile Radar software development teams, you will be required to be CAM certified and perform monthly EVMS activities.

This specific role will be supporting Advanced Tactical Programs (ATP) Engineering & Manufacturing Development (EMD) contracts as the Software Engineering IPT Lead, within the Tactical Fighters AMS E&S homeroom.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Customer and program management point of contact for all ATP software mode development and integration activities
  • Lead software development, integration, testing & troubleshooting of the ATP system including digital integration, and design verification testing
  • Lead software integration strategy and flow development, developing test plans and defining test environments, scenarios and objectives
  • Drive a multi-disciplinary software team through technical hurdles and solutions, enforcing software processes
  • Interfacing with product design teams for implementation of root cause resolutions
  • Working with technical leads to develop schedules, technical briefs and status
  • Own engineering staffing, program planning and execution
  • Manage Cost Account and support EVMS

Basic Qualifications for a Staff Engineer:

Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in science, engineering, or related discipline with 12 years of experience; or 10 years of relevant experience with a Masters (MS) degree or 8 years of relevant experience with a Ph.D. 4 additional years in lieu of a degree
