Mental Health Cooperative, Inc. (MHC) was formed in 1993 to serve individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. Since then, we have expanded our services to children and adolescents with severe emotional disorders across Middle and East Tennessee.
Our sole purpose is to support and treat those challenged with serious mental illness and poverty. Although based out of Nashville, we serve several communities across middle and East Tennessee with satellite offices in Antioch, Gallatin, Dickson, Columbia, Cleveland, Murfreesboro, Clarksville, Cookeville, Chattanooga, and Memphis.

Job Summary: Provide oversight and planning leadership for the Davidson County Mobile Crisis Response Team (EPS Crisis Team) as well as performing necessary Crisis Counselor and Crisis Triage duties.
Position Responsibilities:
1. Support the EPS Crisis Team through proactive leadership - brainstorming and problem solving on both immediate situations and future concerns.
2. Provide direct supervision and leadership of EPS Crisis Counselor Supervisors, Crisis Triage Supervisors, and EPS Discharge Specialists.
3. Assist with weekly supervision of non-licensed EPS staff as needed.
4. Review and respond to EPS Crisis Team Outcome Metrics to insure optimal performance and growth of EPS.
5. Assist in gaining EPS Crisis Team alignment and execution of new initiatives and procedures.
6. Keep EPS Crisis Team informed of current MHC policies and procedures, MCC requirements and changes in the mental health laws of Tennessee.
7. Develop and maintain working relationships across MHC teams.
8. Develop and maintain a working relationship with community agencies as directed by EPS Director and EPS Medical Director.
9. Serve as accountability for utilizing least restrictive options in dispositioning Crisis calls.
10. Facilitate Crisis training for new and current employees.
11. Monitor the quality of crisis assessments and encourage performance adjustments as needed.
12. Assist in organizing and directing Crisis Team staff meetings.
13. Conduct information meetings and trainings for community agencies as needed.
14. Perform Crisis Counselor and Triage Counselor duties as needed.
15. Direct daily and monthly clinical supervision and documentation of such for Crisis Counselors including shift leaders, and certified and licensed MCRT personnel.
16. Assist EPS Director and EPS Medical Director in developing strategic plans for EPS Crisis Team.
17. Assist in developing and updating policies and procedures for MCRT.
18. Oversee scheduling for PTO within the MCRT and ensure adequate coverage at all times.
19. Participate in on-call activities deemed necessary to the functions of the EPS Dept.
20. Conduct field supervision as needed.
21. Check TDMH State system to ensure data is being entered in a timely manner.
22. Provide UrgiCare consults during scheduled work hours, rotating weekends and overnight as needed.
Other Responsibilities:
● Responsible for attending all mandatory in-services, continuing education and annual health requirements
● Comply with all Corporate Compliance policies, practices and procedures
Report all unethical activities to supervisor, Corporate Compliance Office, Values Hotline number or Human Resource Director
● Comply with all OSHA and safety policies, practices, and procedures. Report all unsafe practices or accidents to supervisor, Safety Supervisor and/or OSHA Coordinator
● Will be compliant with the relevant regulations concerning the privacy and security of consumer’s protected health information (PHI) as established by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA)
● Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
● Perform other duties as assigned
● Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill
● Follow all policies and procedures set by the Agency
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Master’s degree in a mental health related field or Registered RN with minimum of 2 years direct care experience in mental health field.
